Details of Preceptorship Program for 4th year Medical Students:
The Preceptorship Program is a four-week rotation in Phoenix and surrounding areas with physicians who have integrated alternative modalities into their
practices. Individual students will be given an opportunity to observe physicians in their offices, allowing them to study and experience Living Medicine in medical practice. Additional activities include: Attending lectures and study groups, observing other alternative health care practitioners, and taking relevant weekend field trips as time and scheduling allow. The program is designed to expose the students to many different alternative modalities.
Gladys T. McGarey, M.D. along with the other physicians who participate in the program are like-minded professionals who understand the importance of having alternatives available so they can best serve the needs of each individual patient. They incorporate the physician/patient partnership philosophy into their practices and support Dr. McGarey's belief that doctors must "learn to return the body to its rightful owner- the patient!"
The Preceptor Program is open to all senior allopathic and osteopathic medical students. Knowledge gained through this experience will be of value to skeptics and enthusiast of holistic medicine because many of their patients are seeking and benefiting from these modalities. Students may apply by writing a letter of interest to Dr. McGarey by mail
